MJ - The Musical at the Neil Simon Theatre

MJ - The Musical brings Michael Jackson's music and creative story to Broadway, with a performance listed for November 18, 2026, at the Neil Simon Theatre in New York. The production is framed around preparations for Jackson's Dangerous World Tour, using that process to explore his artistry, relationships, and drive for perfection. On ticketsuniondale.com, this event is listed under Theatre and Broadway.

The musical opened at the Neil Simon Theatre on February 1, 2022, and features a book by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage, with direction and choreography by Christopher Wheeldon. Its catalog includes signature songs such as “Billie Jean,” “Beat It,” “Thriller,” “Smooth Criminal,” and “Man in the Mirror.” The production received four Tony Awards in 2022, including honors for choreography, lighting, sound, and costume design.

Expect a large-scale stage experience built around Jackson's demanding vocal and dance repertoire. The show features approximately 35 songs, intricate choreography, LED scenery, and recreations of memorable concert imagery, including the “Thriller” sequence and the “Smooth Criminal” lean. The musical runs approximately two hours and 30 minutes, including one intermission. Cast details and any opening acts for this performance have not been provided.

Prices currently start around $120 for this major Broadway production, with available seats and final prices varying by section and demand.

Venue and Seating Information

The historic Neil Simon Theatre is located at 250 W 52nd St in Manhattan's Theatre District and has approximately 1,467 seats across the Orchestra, Mezzanine, Rear Mezzanine, and private Boxes. Its classic Broadway setting places the production amid the restaurants and busy streets of Midtown, making it easy to plan a full theatre-district evening around the performance.

For a close, immersive view of the choreography, center Orchestra rows D–N are among the strongest choices. Center Mezzanine rows A–E offer an elevated perspective that can make it easier to take in the production's lighting and large-scale staging. Rear Mezzanine seats are generally more budget-friendly, though the stage will feel farther away; extreme-side seats in that section may have restricted views.

Parking Information

The theatre has no dedicated on-site parking. Midtown traffic and limited street parking can make driving challenging, so public transit is worth considering: the N, Q, R, and W trains stop at 49th Street, while the 1 train serves 50th Street. If driving, nearby garages are available, and advance booking may help secure a space.
